Visitors to the Summerville Flowertown Festival beginning Friday should be treated to lots of colorful foliage this year led by Summerville’s famous azaleas which seem to be at peak bloom right now all over town.
It will be one of the busiest weekends of the year in Charleston with over 200,000 visitors expected to visit Historic Downtown Summerville and Azalea Park.
And don’t forget that Saturday’s Cooper River Bridge Run is always held the same weekend as Flowertown and Daniel Island is hosting the Family Circle Cup.
I have clients from out of town who are house hunting and they made their reservations a little late so they are stuck out in Walterboro and have to drive an hour just to get to Summerville where they are looking to retire. But they’re going to mix business with pleasure since they have set a day aside to attend the festival. Here’s hoping for some nice spring weather.
