If your agent goes on vacation, what should you do

Aren’t real estate agents supposed to be on call 24/7/365 and wouldn’t you know it, your agent is on vacation when you happen to find the perfect house. That’s just not right to leave you hanging so what should you do.

But hey, agents are people too, aren’t they.

The first thing you should NOT do is go out and see the home without your agent because if you happen to buy it, your agent will not get paid. And that’s a shame especially if they have done a lot of work for you until now.

What you should do is contact your agent. Most responsible agents have associates in place who can help out in exactly this kind of situation. You’ll be able to view the home and make an offer and more than likely your agent can handle that for you from remote.

On the other hand, if you’re selling your Charleston home, you should encourage your agent to take a vacation because it really never fails, when your agent leaves town, business gets busy. And don’t worry, any good real estate agent can take care of the details from almost anywhere.
