It’s really pretty obvious. First impressions matter when selling your Charleston home and aside from adding some color with flowers, nothing makes a bigger difference than having a lush lawn.
Take a look at the photo of the lawn to the left and doesn’t that make you look forward to viewing a home you might consider buying.
So if you are thinking about selling your home, take a look at your home from your potential buyer’s perspective.
Add those colorful flowers, decorate your front porch, put a fresh coat of paint on the front door, make sure the locks on the door work smoothly but most of all, get out there and mow, edge and trim your lawn regularly.
Now unfortunately we’ve had a lot of rain lately (that should end the talk about the drought that we were talking about in the Southeast) and it might be easier said than done to have your yard in beautiful condition. Too much water is just as bad (or worse) than not enough.
So maybe your lawn is looking more like the photo on the right. (And in the interests of full disclosure, both photos are from different areas of my yard.)
If I was going to be selling my home right now, I would basically tear up the portion of the lawn that looked dreadful and put new sod down in its place.
And if it ever stops raining, I’ll do it anyway
Don’t forget, curb appeal makes a big difference when selling your home! It starts with a beautiful lawn.
