Let’s take care of the important news first and that is, as expected, sales in April of this year topped April last year by just a few sales (839 vs. 834) but more importantly kept the streak of year over year increases going. And there continues to be a very sizeable backlog of homes under contract that are either contingent or pending so I’m waiting (and I hope you are too) for that big month or two that I’ve been predicting for a while now.
This past week had a little more of the same that we’ve been seeing all year in the Charleston real estate market and that is the usual number of homes coming on the market, going under contract and closings.
- 329 new listings came on the market at an average price of $330,784
- 251 homes went under contract at an average price of $274,374
- 216 homes sold at an average price of $256,976
